We were excited for the last part of our 2026 Plinth project to take place on October 7, 2026, with the installation of Camille Jodoin-Eng’s “All Doors Lead Here” in the Town of Logy Bay–Middle Cove–Outer Cove.
In October 2025 the Pouch Cove Public Art Committee had invited professional artists to submit an Expression of Interest for one or two temporary, outdoor three-dimensional public artworks to be installed as part of the Plinth Project.
We subsequently shortlisted five artists who then submitted sculpture models and video presentations which were shown on our Facebook site and at an open house on February 28, 2026. The public were invited to comment. The committee ultimately selected Camille Jodoin-Eng and Susan Valyi to supply our new sculptures for 2026, with Susan’s sculpture replacing the “Sky Tower” in Pouch Cove, Camille’s sculpture installed in our new partner community, Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove, and the “Sky Tower” was moved to Portugal Cove-St. Philips.
We are grateful for the funding supplied by The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador (Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation), ArtsNL, and support from the Towns of Pouch Cove, Portugal Cove-St. Philips and Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove.
The concept behind the Plinth Project is to replace artwork every twelve months, providing a platform for diverse artistic expressions. The PAPAC remains committed to enhancing the cultural environment of Pouch Cove, connecting residents, and inviting visitors to the area through our existing and future public art projects.
